Snow on the Central Coast ... WHAT?

The weather forecast said a big storm was coming with the possibility of snow at lower elevations. our part of Templeton is only at 700+ feet, so we were hopeful.  

But when other areas of north SLO County were getting some kind of snow, we were just getting rain.  And then as we were all in bed, I got up to check just one more time and sure enough, it was snowing!!  And that exciting event necessitated getting everybody out of bed to see the snow!

Christian and Scarlett have only seen snow one time:  when we were in Denver for Christmas in 2014(?).  And they don't remember the real event ... just want they have seen in photos.

The next morning ... this was it.  HA!!!

Other parts of North SLO County got quite a bit of snow - so the amount totally depended on location.  Here are some pics I didn't take myself:

A Weekend in Santa Barbara

We spent the long four-day weekend in beautiful Santa Barbara!  We sure are enjoying the ability to travel with Chloe and stay in pet-friendly Airbnbs!

Our first morning in Santa Barbara, I took Chloe on a long walk to the nearby Shoreline Park:

We visited the Santa Barbara Zoo!

 

We ate dinner at a highly-recommended - and super busy - restaurant, Santo Mezcal.  The food was good and the cocktails were yummy!  

We love doing "escape rooms," and finally completed one before the time ran out!!

Our final stop was on our way leaving for home: The Santa Barbara Mission.  We had Chloe, so we couldn't go inside ... but it was interesting to see it from the outside.
