We LOVE Scarlett's new school, Brookside Christian Academy!!
So much, in fact, that Jonathan and I attended their first-ever fundraising gala. This kind of event isn't really our vibe. I had to help out with similar events when I was on the PTO. While there. is definitely an element of fun, it's also a big social situation and we're not big socializing people.
But we went anyway ... stepping outside of our comfort zone and we frequently tell our kids to do.
Turns out we had a fabulous time! We sat at a table with six people who came together, and we were the "strangers," but they were very nice and chatted with us throughout the evening.
I especially had fun with the live auctions! I bid frequently and early, knowing I would be outbid ... but the thrill of raising my paddle was exciting. There was one time where I was up to $400 on my bid, and it looked like it was going to be mine. Panic set it! I wasn't prepared to spend $400 on anything - yikes! Thankfully at the last moment, I was outbid then other bids came in. WHEW!!
Scarlett's 8th grade class put together all the flower arrangements, and a quote from them was place in the middle. I love her quote! We definitely made a good choice in sending Scarlett to Brookside!
