Our Family Christmas Photos

Once again, my sister graced us with her photographic talent for our annual family photo session.   Sure is tricky to get four people to look right at the camera and smile.   Near impossible, in fact.

The Road to Wellness is Paved with VIruses

Just when I thought the Luceros were well.   Um, nope.

Wednesday night, Scarlett threw up.  We assumed it was from a few bites of feta cheese she tried.  It may have been, but on Thursday, she threw up numerous times.  By Friday, I was getting concerned and tried to get her into the doctor.  I called first thing in the morning, and was told neither doc could see her, and I should take her to urgent care.

But then she stopped throwing up and seemed to be fine.   By late afternoon, she was vomiting again and I made her an appointment for this morning.

Enter Christian.   He called out to us around 4:00am, and had thrown up in his bed.

We got both kiddos into the doctor today and learned that Scarlett has a virus, and Christian, whose immunity was knocked out by the antibiotics, was more susceptible to getting Scarlett's virus.  Poor Christian threw up four times before getting to the doctor.  He was giving an anti-vomiting pill and then a few minutes later, threw up.

Aside from the anti-vomiting pill, nothing can be given to my poor kiddos.  We just have to ride this virus out.   Happily, Scarlett seems to be on the mend and now we're waiting for Christian to get the diarrhea stage of this illness.

The doctor doesn't think Jonathan or I will get sick, as this is a bug that affects kiddos most.  But Jonathan is on antibiotics for an eye issue, so that means his immunity is down a bit.

Hope we're all well for Christmas!

Christian's Christmas Concert at School

For weeks, Christian has been singing the two Christmas songs his class would be performing for tonight's concert. He's been very excited and we couldn't wait to hear him.

But alas, he got anxious when we arrived at school.  It was very busy with all the kids and parents/family members.   He clung to me and asked me not to leave him.  Eventually we were able to leave the room and go to the room next door and wait for the performance to begin.

Meanwhile, Scarlett wasn't feeling well and threw up in the car on the way to the performance.  Poor baby!

It seemed to take forever for the kiddos to come into the room to sing.   But Christian was ready by this point!

I was trying to take pictures and video at the same time, and a dad next to me offered to take the video for me.  And so I now present to you:  Our sweet lil' boy! :)

If you want a more personal experience, here's a video of Christian singing the songs to me.

All Better!

Christian has been doing his breathing treatments (in fact, he protests a bit when I remove the nebulizer from his mouth .. I think he's grown to like it!), and taking his amoxicillin.   And I'm happy to report he's well enough to be at school today!

I knew he was feeling better when I asked him to go potty and he gave me his dramatic, "No!  No fair!" as he reluctantly scurried off to the bathroom.

We're so glad to have our lil' guy back and feeling healthy!
